There is just something special about including in our work the people we most care about. That care translates into providing a superior level of service to our customers.

There was just something kind of romantic about the idea of starting a carpet cleaning business with my family. After all, it’s how I met Reed. He worked for a childhood friend of his at the time, who owned a local carpet sales and cleaning business. We met when my parents became customers. A mutual friend who referred my parents, provided a little nudge for us to begin dating.

We have three children who grew up in the business. Working with us wasn’t just a way to help us out or to earn spending money. It’s not easy work and parents can be very demanding employers. Our children learned how to work, to value their efforts, and to learn to communicate with the consuming public. Mostly they learned how to solve issues that present themselves while working and to not let them negatively affect customers. It has been a great experience for all of us and it has kept us close.

I try to bring my passion for serving people and the skills I learned as an operations manager in the technology field to make sure our customers not only get a quality cleaning, but a superior customer experience.

There is nothing I ever wanted more than to be a husband and a father. Well, except maybe to be part of my own family business. As a kid, I dreamed of starting and running a business with my two older brothers. When they took their own paths, I dreamed of being in business with my closest friends. By the time Spotsmith came along, I had a good career in the telecommunications field. I had pretty much given up on owning a business. Tami started the business in 2003 and a few years later I joined her full time to realize my dream.

There is nothing more fun or fulfilling as working in Tami’s business. It’s the best decision we ever made as a family to start this business. We provide a service that makes us extremely proud. Our customers are overwhelmed with the level of customer service Spotsmith provides. The work we perform is superior to any of our competitors. Danielle, Tami, and I work well together to constantly improve our business, in order to improve our customer’s experience.

Like my mom, I met my husband Chris from the carpet cleaning industry. My dad went to school with his parents. When Chris graduated high school, his dad asked my father to give him a job. He quickly became part of the business and part of our family.

While I went to college, Chris trained to be a paramedic. He works as a firefighter in his hometown of Walpole. And, occasionally helps out at Spotsmith when we need him. We have a daughter that seems to be also growing up in the business. She helps me every morning get the truck ready for the day’s work – “truck ready”. She keeps a little desk in the office next to her grandmother who watches her while we work and does her “Spotsmith work”.

I have never worked any place other than Spotsmith. When I graduated college with a degree in Biology, I was faced with deciding not just what I wanted my career to be, but how I wanted my work to make me feel. It became clear to me that I wanted to continue working with my family every day. It’s hard to explain, but there is just something special about including in my work the people I care about the most – my parents, my husband, and my daughter.

I have one last course to complete from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) to become a Certified Master Cleaner. Attaining the Master Cleaner certification allows me to assure our Spotsmith customers the highest level of technical experience and professionalism.
